After Yan Gomes crushed a solo homer in the fifth inning, Padres starter Joe Musgrove ran into more trouble by walking Ian Happ, giving up a third hit to Seiya Suzuki and then hitting Cody Bellinger.
The Padres went to the bullpen and after getting ahead in the count 2-0, Christopher Morel demolished a sweeper that didn’t quite sweep from right-handed reliever Stephen Kolek.
Morel got all of this one.
